Each year the Lookingglass Theatre attracts Chicago's corporate, cultural, and social elite to take part in their annual benefit gala,
gglassquerade. The 20th Anniversary Lookingglass
gglassquerade 2008 is being held on Friday, May 9 at The Peninsula Chicago. With a theme of "Around the World", the event will be co-chaired by Nancy Timmers, Ernie Arias, and Temple Williams and hosted by Lookingglass Ensemble members David Schwimmer and Joey Slotnick.
A highlight of the evening includes presenting the first-ever
Lookingglass Award for Civic Engagement to Mayor Richard M. Daley. With the funds raised through gglassquerade, Lookingglass will advance its commitment to new theatrical works and increase its work with Chicago-area students and families through Educational & Community programming reaching over 15,000 community members each year.
