Philip R Smith
PHILIP R. SMITH is an Ensemble Member at Lookingglass Theatre. He has served as the theatre's Producing Artistic Director since 2003 where he has produced over 50 productions. His duties include strategy and artistic oversight of marketing, casting, fundraising, events, facilities and production concerns. Lookingglass was the recipient of the 2011 Regional Theatre Tony Award. As an actor, Phil most recently appeared at Lookingglass as the title role in Ethan Frome, Will in Trust and Ivan in The Brothers Karamazov. He will be seen this summer at Lookingglass in Big Lake Big City directed by David Schwimmer and Written by Keith Huff. Other acting credits include Doctor Sartorius in The March, Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird, Reverend Parris in The Crucible  - all at Steppenwolf Theatre, and Phileas Fogg in Around the World in 80 Days at Balitmore's Center Stage.  Additional Lookingglass credits include The Wooden Breeks, Hillbilly Antigone, Metamorphoses, The Idiot, The Vanishing Twin, The Arabian Nights and Up Against It..  Other regional credits include McCarter Theatre (NJ), Seattle Rep (WA), the Arden Theatre (PA), BAM (NY), and The Actor's Gang (CA). TV and film credits include "Boss," "Prison Break," "Friends," "Chicago Hope," "Early Edition," "Kissing a Fool," The Dilemma, The Express,  Since You’ve Been Gone and High Fidelity. |
